How do different generative search tools deal with links as the query?

Searching... [ https://danielsgriffin.com/2023/10/03/highlighting-llm-generated-content-in-search-results-do-we-need-a-new-link-attribute.html ]

What happens if I search the URL for a recent page of mine (not yet indexed/searchable on Google) on a generative search site? Is the page indexed or retrieved? What does it say? This is a search for a page written one day ago.

  • Bing, Perplexity AI, and Phind Search all retrieve and engage with the website.
  • You.com redirects to the URL.
  • Andi returns results from its index (similar to many of the non-generative search sites).
  • Metaphor Systems seems to return results based off the text in the URL.
